Long-time birder, conservationist and part-time Saturna resident, Anne Murray, will talk about the winter birds that inhabit our region, their changing populations and habits. She will give tips about doing the Christmas Bird Count and the value of this longest running citizen science project.
The Talk will begin at the Saturna Community Hall with a slideshow then move to Winter Cove to observe birds in the field. The Saturna Bus will provide transport.
Anne was recently awarded Nature Canada’s highest award for her conservation work as a writer and volunteer. She is the author of A Nature Guide to Boundary Bay and a major contributing author to the Georgia Basin Habitat Atlas: Boundary Bay. She volunteers with a number of non-profit organizations and has had a life-long interest in birds and nature. Anne writes regular columns for the Delta Optimist and The Georgia Straight and she blogs for Nature Guides BC.
