MARIAN PORTER

RETIRED BIRD BIOLOGIST,
CANADIAN WILDLIFE FEDERATION

Southern Gulf Islands and bird biologist, Marian Porter, will talk about the birds you may encounter on your walk through the forest, along the seashore and at your feeder. With a finely tuned ear to bird song, Marion can identify many species by sound alone. She’ll give pointers on participating in the Christmas Bird Count, too.

The presentation will start in the Saturna Fog Alarm Building at East Point with a slideshow of bird photos taken by local bird photographer Petrus Pienaar and then continue with a guided walk around East Point. Light refreshments will be served.

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced birder, join our Saturna group of enthusiasts and find out more about the birds that live on and visit our island.
